My doctor mentioned this for throat infection but I got nervous after reading random things online. I am in second trimester and trying not to panic. Has anyone been prescribed it by gynac during pregnancy?
This is one your gynac has to decide. There are antibiotics that doctors do prescribe in pregnancy when there's a real infection, but the choice and dose depend on your situation and trimester. Don't self start it, just ring your doctor.
I'm not a doctor so I really can't say. I know in my pregnancy they did give me an antibiotic for an infection but only after the gynac decided it was needed and safe for me. Best to call your doctor and ask directly.
Please do not take this on your own. Any antibiotic during pregnancy should only be taken if your gynac prescribes it for you specifically. Some are considered safe and given when needed but it must be the doctor's call, not a chemist's.
Honestly the safest answer is to ask the doctor who knows your case. Antibiotics aren't a one size fits all in pregnancy. If you have an infection that's bothering you, get it checked rather than guessing online.
