Im 22 weeks and so curious to hear my baby's heartbeat at home without waiting for the next scan. Is it actually possible to hear it on my own somehow or only at the doctor? such a magical thing na, just want to feel it more.
There are home fetal doppler gadgets people use, but honestly many docs dont recommend them because if you cant find the beat you panic unnecessarily. At the clinic they catch it easily with proper equipment. I just enjoyed it at each visit.
Not really with just your ears at home, the heartbeat is too soft for that. My doctor used a doppler in checkups from around 10-12 weeks to let me hear it, and on the scan you see it earlier. Some people buy home dopplers but mine advised relying on regular checkups instead.
By your own ears at home, no. Its heard through a doppler at the clinic usually after 10-12 weeks, and seen on ultrasound around 6-7 weeks. Home dopplers exist but they can confuse and worry you, better to hear it at checkups.
Hearing that heartbeat for the first time at the doctors with the doppler, I just melted. You cant really hear it yourself by ear, but every visit they let me listen and it became my favourite moment. So worth waiting for those appointments.
