Can false positive happen pregnancy tests?

My kit showed two lines but I started spotting next day and now im so confused and emotional. Can these tests show positive when ur actually not? has it happened with anyone here?

Unless you are on IVF hormone shots or read the evaporation line after 10 minutes, a positive is a positive. Go get a beta hCG test.
