I never had thyroid before, it only got detected after I conceived and now im on tablets. My doc increased the dose also. Just wondering does it usually go back to normal once baby is born or stays for life? Anyone with same experience?
Same here, I am currently in my 6th month and taking thyroid meds daily. I keep wondering if I have to continue this lifelong or if it stops after delivery. Did your doctor say anything about doing a postpartum test?
Oh god, I had sleepless nights when my reports showed high thyroid levels, so I get how stressful this is. For me, it actually went back to normal after delivery, but please check with your doctor regularly. Don't worry too much, stress makes it worse.
Yaar actually for some people it goes away, but for some it stays. Mere case me it normalized after 6 months. Just consult your gynac properly and don't skip the blood tests.
Yes it can! Mine was only during pregnancy and completely disappeared after my baby was born 🎉 Just make sure you take your daily dose as advised by your doc and get tested every month!
I was so scared thinking this is a permanent disease, but honestly it's very common. After my baby turned 3 months, my levels stabilized and doctor stopped my meds. Just keep up with your regular checkups.
During my delivery at Cloudnine, the doctors explained that gestational thyroid often resolves itself. They set up a clear follow-up plan and tested me again 6 weeks postpartum, so definitely discuss this with your hospital team.
