Im in my 2nd trimester and have to bend constantly for housework and picking things. Everyone at ghar pe keeps saying mat jhuko it will harm baby. Is bending really not okay or am i being told tension for nothing?
Bending is totally fine in early pregnancy, but as your bump grows, your center of gravity changes and you can easily lose balance. Instead of bending from your waist, try to bend your knees and squat keeping your back straight. It protects your lower back from serious strain too.
In the first few months, yes, but by the third trimester your belly is basically a giant watermelon and bending forward is practically impossible anyway! Just squat down like a sumo wrestler, it's way safer and quite a funny workout. Don't worry, the baby is fully cushioned inside!
I was extremely scared of even bending a little because of my past miscarriage, but my doctor reassured me that gentle bending doesn't hurt the baby. Still, to be absolutely safe, I totally avoided lifting anything heavy and always squatted very slowly when needed. Please take it easy and listen to your body.
My saas always used to stop me from bending forward at the waist and told me to sit down completely or squat if I wanted to pick something up. Honestly, her advice made so much sense later when my bump grew, because bending directly is super uncomfortable. Just bend your knees instead!
Try to avoid bending over because you might get dizzy, plus you'll probably get bad acidity too! If something falls on the floor, honestly, just use your toes to pick it up or ask your husband to do it. Save your energy, you'll need plenty of it soon anyway!
