I have PCOS and my doctor put me on metformin a few months back. Now we want to start trying and im wondering if it actually helps with conceiving. Anyone here got pregnant while on it? pls share ur story.
My doc explained metformin improves insulin sensitivity which helps ovulation in PCOS. Many continue it even early in pregnancy under guidance. So yes it can help, but follow exactly what your doctor says about continuing it.
I conceived while on metformin for my PCOS actually, my doc kept me on it. It helped my cycles become regular which made it easier. But your dose and plan should be from your own gynac, every body is different.
During my journey metformin was part of my plan too and it did help. Please dont lose hope, many of us conceive on it. Just stay in close touch with your doctor and be gentle with yourself.
