Can i eat apricot in gestational diabetes in pregnancy?
I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes during my pregnancy, and I'm trying to manage my diet. Can I still eat apricots, or should I avoid them because of the sugar content? I want to make sure it's safe.
Beta, gestational diabetes me mithi cheezein thoda dekh kar khani chahiye. Taaza khubani (apricot) ek-adh khalo toh theek hai, par sukhi hui mat khana. Apne doctor se bhi ek baar pooch lo.
Haan na, GD is so stressful when it comes to sweet cravings. You can eat fresh apricot occasionally because it has good fiber, but dried ones have too much sugar, ho na. Always check your sugar levels after having it.
When I had mild GD, my MIL suggested eating fresh fruits only in the morning and avoiding dried ones altogether. She was right, fresh apricot in moderation didn't spike my sugars, but dry ones are a big no-no.
I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy, and after my C-section, my sugar levels finally went back to normal. My doctor allowed me to eat one fresh apricot occasionally, but dried ones have too much concentrated sugar, so avoid those.
I am planning to conceive soon and reading up on GD diets. Apricots are sweet, but do they have a low glycemic index? I hope we can eat them in moderation because I love fruits!
Since you have GD, fresh apricots are okay in limit, but monitor your blood sugar after eating. I used to go for a light 15-minute walk right after eating fruit to keep my levels stable, but please make sure your gynac has cleared you for walking first.
I was also diagnosed with GD last week and I'm so confused about fruits. Can we eat fresh apricots with some almonds to balance the sugar spike? If anyone has tried this, please let me know!
