Can i eat cumin seeds during 1st rimister of pregnancy?
I often use jeera (cumin seeds) in my cooking, as it's a staple in Indian food. I'm in my first trimester, and I'm wondering if it's safe to continue eating cumin seeds during this early stage of pregnancy? My family says it's fine, but I want to double-check.
Jeera in normal culinary amounts actually helps with digestion and morning sickness. Just avoid high dose herbal supplements and stick to your doctor's advice.
My doctor said jeera used in regular cooking is perfectly safe. Just avoid drinking heavy concentrated jeera water or extracts without asking your gynac.
A pinch of roasted jeera powder in fresh curd is very good for digestion, beta. But don't drink boiled jeera water in large amounts during the first trimester.
