I keep craving ice cubes lately, like chewing on them feels so good. My saas keeps saying its not good for the baby but idk if thats true. Is it actually okay or no?
I used to crave ice water a lot during my pregnancy. But postpartum, especially after my C-section, my elders strictly told me to avoid cold things to let my body heal. So enjoy a little bit now, but keep it in limit.
Arey, don't worry, eating a bit of ice is totally fine and it actually helps with nausea too. Just make sure the water used is absolutely clean and filtered so you don't catch any infection. Take care of yourself, okay?
Eating ice is fine occasionally, but sometimes craving ice continuously can mean low iron levels. I had thyroid issues so I had to be very careful with my doctor follow-ups and blood tests. Better to get your haemoglobin checked by your gynac.
Usually, craving ice (pagophagia) is quite common but it can sometimes point to anemia. Mention this to your doctor during your next visit so they can check your iron levels. Otherwise, a little ice won't harm the baby.
I have heard so many pregnant women craving ice, is it really that common? I am currently planning my pregnancy and reading all these threads to know what to expect! Sounds like a fun craving though.
Haan, eat it if you feel like it, especially in this heat! But ice cubes chabane se teeth damage ho sakte hain na, so thoda dhyan rakhna. Also, don't do it too much or you might catch a cold.
OMG, crushing ice in my mouth was my absolute favorite thing to do during my second trimester! It felt so refreshing when I had those random hot flashes. Just enjoy it, but maybe don't replace your meals with it haha.
