Mom made oal (arbi/yam) sabzi at home today and it smells so good but i remember someone saying it can cause throat itching. Im in second trimester. Is it ok to have or better to skip?
Yam, or oal, is eaten in our home cooked well as a curry, and in normal amounts it should be fine. My amma always said cook it properly so it doesnt irritate the throat. If you have any specific issue, just ask your doctor.
Yam is a fine vegetable in moderation, it has good fibre. Just make sure its cooked thoroughly. As with any food in pregnancy, if you are unsure, a quick check with your gynac never hurts.
Beta suran is fine when cooked properly with tamarind so it isnt itchy. We ate it in season. Just have it in moderation and not if it gives you acidity, you know your stomach best.
