I love methi thepla and methi sabzi, basically eat it quite often. Someone in my family said methi is heaty and not good when ur pregnant. Im 14 weeks now, is it really something to avoid?
As an everyday vegetable in moderate amounts, methi leaves are usually considered fine. The caution is around large medicinal quantities or seeds. If you have any specific condition, just run it by your gynac to be sure.
I was told methi in normal cooking is fine, in fact it was part of my diet. But because methi seeds can affect sugar levels, I didnt take any seed powder on my own. Stick to the leaves in regular food and you're good.
At home we always added methi to food, no one ever stopped me in pregnancy. Normal sabzi amount is fine. Only thing, dont start having concentrated methi for any home remedy without asking your doctor.
Methi leaves cooked as a vegetable in normal quantity is okay, I had methi paratha plenty. Just dont go overboard and avoid concentrated methi seed mixtures or kasuri methi in big doses. Food amount, relax.
Methi as a normal sabzi in regular food amounts is generally fine beta, we've eaten it for generations. The thing to avoid is big amounts of methi seeds or supplements during pregnancy. Cooked methi leaves in your dal or paratha now and then, no problem.
