A doctor had prescribed this to me before pregnancy for a stomach issue and i still have the strip. Now im in my second trimester and the problem is back. I wont take anything without asking my gynac first, but wanted to know if any of u were given this during pregnancy.
Don't pop any antibiotic without your doctor okaying it during pregnancy. They sometimes do allow this one, but it's their call after knowing your case. Just message your gynac, she'll guide you quickly.
Please don't take this on your own. Metronidazole is sometimes prescribed in pregnancy but only your doctor can decide based on your trimester and the infection. I was given it once but strictly under my gynac's instruction. Call her first.
This is a prescription antibiotic, not something to self start. Doctors do use it in pregnancy in certain cases, but the timing and dose matter. Ring your gynac and let her decide, that's the only safe route.
I'd really avoid deciding this from the internet. Antibiotics in pregnancy are very case specific. Whatever someone here says, your treating doctor's advice is the one that actually applies to you.
