Can milk consumption give sufficient calcium in pregnancy?
Im trying to get my calcium mostly from food and i already drink 2 glasses of milk daily. Just wondering is that actually enough during pregnancy or do most of u need extra. Im in my second trimester now.
Milk helps but it is usually not enough on its own, that is why doctors give a calcium tablet. I had 2 glasses a day plus my supplement. Dont skip the prescribed one thinking milk covers it.
Honestly milk, curd, til, ragi are cheap calcium sources I leaned on. But the doc tablet is also affordable and important, so I did both. No need to buy expensive milk brands, normal is fine.
My family pushed lots of milk, curd and ragi which is good for calcium. But my doctor still gave a calcium tablet from 2nd trimester. So both together is the way.
