Can morning sugar level affect your baby in pregnancy?
My fasting sugar came slightly high in the test n im a bit tense now, 26 weeks. doc will see me soon but till then im worrying if it affects the baby. anyone had high morning sugar during pregnancy?
Yes it can matter, which is why I monitored my fasting sugar so closely when I had GD. High sugars over time can affect the baby's growth, so keeping it in range is important. Please dont guess, get your gynac to set your target and diet, that is what kept my baby healthy.
My doctor explained that consistently high blood sugar, including fasting morning readings, can affect the baby's size and other things. That is exactly why they do the glucose test in pregnancy. If your fasting numbers are high, follow up with your gynac for a proper plan.
I would take morning sugar readings seriously, not lightly. If they are running high please tell your gynac soon so they can guide diet or treatment. Controlled early, it is very manageable, so just dont ignore it.
