Can overtreated hypothyroism become hidrance in pregnancy?
I have thyroid since few years and recently my report showed my levels went too low because of the dose. Now im planning to conceive and worried if this overtreatment will cause issues. Anyone faced something like this?
I had thyroid during my pregnancy and yes, both too much and too little medicine can affect things, which is why they test TSH regularly. My doctor adjusted my dose a few times based on reports. Pls get your levels checked and let your doc tweak the dose, dont change it yourself.
This is really something only your doctor should manage with blood tests, please dont guess. I had a thyroid issue and regular testing kept everything safe. Book a TSH test and review with ur gynac or endocrinologist soon.
From what my endocrinologist explained, thyroid levels need to stay in a target range during pregnancy and overtreatment can push them too low, which is why frequent monitoring matters. They retest every few weeks usually. Definitely flag this to your doctor so they can correct the dose.
I also dealt with hormonal stuff and learnt that thyroid balance is delicate in pregnancy. Over or under, both need correction by the doctor through testing. Get checked and dont stress, it's very manageable once monitored properly.
