We are getting our flat painted before the baby comes and the smell is honestly so strong, makes me feel a bit dizzy. Im 5 months and now a little worried if its harmful for the baby. Should i stay away till it settles?
A little smell here and there won't harm, but sitting in a freshly painted closed room for long is not a good idea. Get someone else to do it and stay out for a couple of days. Open the windows fully.
We got our place painted when I was pregnant and I just stayed at my mom's for those days. Easiest way honestly, no need to breathe it in. Plan it so you are away while it dries.
Beta, just stay in another room with fresh air and you will be fine. We always kept windows open after painting. No need to take too much tension, only avoid sitting in the smell.
I can only say what I did, I just stayed away from the painted area till the smell went. I didn't have any issue. For real safety advice better to ask your own doctor.
Strong paint fumes are generally best avoided during pregnancy, especially in the first trimester. Keep the room ventilated and stay away while it is being painted. If you are worried about exposure, mention it to your gynac.
Oh I would have panicked the whole day if I smelled paint. I get worried about every little thing too. Just keep distance and maybe ask your doctor so your mind is at peace.
