I used to do pushups regularly before and im only 7 weeks now. Dont want to suddenly stop everything but also dont want to put pressure on the belly. Anyone continued upper body workouts in early pregnancy?
I wouldnt push it without a green signal from the doctor. I kept my workouts very light. If she says yes then modified pushups, walking and prenatal yoga are gentler options to lean on.
Listen to your body na. If something pulls at your tummy or you feel breathless, stop. Best is a quick word with your gynac, she knows your case and can tell you what intensity is safe for you.
Please check with your doctor before any of this. I had some issues so i was told no strain at all. Every pregnancy is different, what is safe for one may not suit you, so let your gynac decide.
Depends on how far along you are and your fitness level honestly. Light wall pushups are okay for many, but lying flat on tummy later is a no. Dont start something brand new in pregnancy without asking your gynac.
I was into fitness before and asked my doc the same. She said gentle modified pushups (against a wall or on knees) are usually fine in early months IF you were already used to exercise, but flat-on-floor ones get tough as the bump grows. Get her clearance first though.
