Can we do exercise during first month of pregnancy?
Just found out im pregnant, probably 4-5 weeks. I used to walk and do light yoga daily and dont want to stop completely but also scared of doing something wrong this early. Is it safe to continue in the first month?
Honestly even a 20 min walk daily counts, you dont need a big routine. I just stayed active with normal movement and walks. Skip the high intensity stuff and get a quick okay from your doctor first.
I would be a little careful in the first month, especially if there is any spotting or you have a history of loss. I was told to rest more early on. Please ask your doctor before starting any exercise, every pregnancy is different.
I kept up light walking and gentle prenatal yoga from early on, but only after my gynac said okay. No heavy lifting or intense stuff. If you were already active it is usually fine to continue gently, just clear it with your doctor.
Walking is the safest thing and I did it both pregnancies from day one. Avoid abs workouts, jumping and heavy weights. Light movement is actually good for you, but check with your gynac to be sure about your case.
Gentle walking and breathing exercises are nice ma, my mother encouraged that too. But in the early weeks I took it slow and asked my doctor what was safe. Nothing strenuous, just easy movement.
