Im 5 months and in this heat i bohot badly want a cold drink yaar. MIL says thanda cheez avoid karo it will affect baby. Is that true or can i have one occasionally?
I totally understand those sudden cravings, especially when you want something cold and bubbly! While a few sips won't hurt, try to avoid having whole cans of carbonated drinks. You can try cold coconut water or fresh fruit juices instead, they are much healthier for your precious baby.
Honestly, carrying this huge belly in this heat makes me want to chug a whole bottle of chilled Coke! I do take a sip or two from my husband's glass sometimes just to satisfy my cravings. But yeah, too much soda gives me bad gas and acidity now, so better to control a bit.
Oh god, I used to overthink this so much and google all the harmful effects of caffeine and preservatives! I read that it's okay very rarely, but I was too scared of the high sugar and gas issues. If you really can't resist, maybe just have a tiny sip and then drink lots of water to balance it out.
A little bit once in a while is absolutely fine, but try not to make it a habit. Cold drinks have a lot of sugar and zero nutrition, which isn't great for you or the baby. If you are craving something fizzy, maybe try fresh lime soda with less sugar at home.
Personally, I completely avoided cold drinks because of some complications in my second trimester, as they can spike blood sugar levels. It's always safer to ask your gynac before adding such things to your diet. Your doctor knows your health history best, so please take their advice first.
