Summer is here and i have such strong cravings for nungu (ice apple) but my MIL says avoid it during pregnancy, no idea why. Im in second trimester. Is it actually fine to eat? someone pls clear this for me.
Buy it from a clean vendor and wash well, thats the only real precaution. Its a cheap natural coolant, much better than packed cold drinks in summer. I used to keep some at home.
Its generally fine, but i had gestational diabetes so i had to watch all sweet fruits including this. If your sugar is normal, enjoy a moderate portion. If you have any sugar issue, check the quantity with your doctor.
Yes da, nungu (ice apple) is lovely in pregnancy, especially in summer, it cools the body. My mom used to give me a bowl in the afternoons. Just eat fresh ones and in normal quantity, it was a comfort for me.
Totally fine in moderation. Its hydrating and light, good for the heat. Just make sure its clean and fresh, and dont overdo it on an empty stomach. I enjoyed it both pregnancies.
