My relatives are suggesting ayurvedic tonics for strength, but I am hesitant now that I am pregnant. Natural also can affect body na, so I dont want to take blindly. Did anyone ask their gynac about this?
I love ayurveda generally, but during pregnancy i didnt take any churan or kadha without asking. Some herbs can affect the baby. For small things like acidity ginger or simple food is fine, but for medicines please check with both your gynac and a proper vaidya.
My family did suggest a few traditional things but i always ran it by my gynac first. She was fine with simple food based stuff but said no to strong herbal medicines. Better safe na.
Please be careful with this. I had some issues in pregnancy and my gynac told me not to take any ayurvedic or herbal medicine without telling her, because some have ingredients that arent safe. Dont assume natural means safe.
Beta in our family some ayurvedic things were given, but times have changed and not everything is safe for the baby. If you want to take any, do it only under a qualified vaidya and tell your gynac also. Mat lo tension, just dont self prescribe.
Natural doesnt always mean safe in pregnancy. A few herbs can cause problems. If you really want ayurvedic support, consult a registered ayurvedic doctor and keep your gynac in the loop too.
