Acidity is killing me these days, almost daily after dinner. Pehle I used to just take eno but now scared to take anything. Is it safe in pregnancy or should I avoid? Anyone?
Please don't take Eno without asking your doctor first. Acidity is very common, but self-medicating is not safe right now. Just call your gynac's clinic, they will suggest a safe remedy or syrup.
I get crazy acidity even now while planning, so I was searching about this too. I heard Eno is not very safe during pregnancy due to sodium. Good to know we should stick to natural remedies like cold milk!
I am in my 28th week and the burning in my chest is unreal! My MIL suggested Eno but I was too scared to try it. Are there any other safe home remedies you guys are using for acidity?
Honestly, avoid Eno during pregnancy because it contains too much sodium which can increase blood pressure or cause bloating. Just drink cold milk or ask your gynac for a safe antacid gel. I used to keep digene handy after consulting my doctor.
Eno has high sodium bicarbonate which can mess with your electrolyte balance and cause fluid retention. For mild acidity, it's much better to have a glass of cold milk or coconut water. If the reflux is severe, ask your gynac to prescribe a pregnancy-safe antacid.
I also had terrible acidity in my second trimester, but I avoided Eno entirely. Instead, I did a 15-minute slow walk after dinner and had fennel water (saunf pani). Please check with your doctor before taking any OTC antacids.
