Because my IVF journey was quite delicate, my gynac advised me to strictly avoid bending or lifting heavy things in the first trimester. If you have any history of spotting or pain, please check with your doctor first.
Normal daily bending to pick up light things is perfectly safe as the baby is well protected inside. Just make sure you don't do it with a sudden jerk or pressure on your lower tummy.
I keep wondering about this too! When we finally conceive, should I completely stop sweeping the floor or bending down? It's so confusing with all the different advice from elders.
In early pregnancy light bending is absolutely fine, just don't do any heavy lifting. Later on when your belly grows, you won't even be able to see your feet let alone bend, haha! So enjoy it while you can but do it carefully.
Honestly, early on you can bend, but try squatting down with your knees instead of bending directly from your waist. Currently at 34 weeks, if something falls on the floor, it belongs to the floor now!
