Can you get a false negative pregnancy test after ivf?
We did our first IVF cycle and the home test showed negative but my beta is not done yet. Im so confused and tense, can the home kit be wrong after IVF? Pls share if anyone had this happen.
Yes it can happen if you test too early at home because IVF hormones take time to show correctly. With my thyroid issues, I learned that regular doctor follow-ups and proper blood tests are the only way to be 100% sure. Don't trust home kits blindly.
Please don't lose hope just yet dear, early home tests are notorious for false negatives in IVF cycles. Your body has gone through so many hormonal injections, so it needs time. Just rest well, feed your body good food, and wait for the official blood test.
Honestly, when I did my treatment at Apollo, my doctor strictly told me not to use home kits because they cause unnecessary panic. The hospital staff scheduled a proper blood test on day 14. You should just call your IVF coordinator and ask them directly instead of guessing.
Oh God, IVF wait is so stressful, I remember feeling so nauseous from anxiety and progesterone. The home kits can definitely give false negatives because they aren't sensitive enough. Just try to breathe, stay hydrated, and let the doctor do the blood test.
I felt so heartbroken when my home test showed negative after our first transfer, I cried for hours. But then my nurse told me that urine kits aren't reliable for IVF in the early days. When we did the blood test two days later, it was actually positive!
Home urine tests can definitely show a false negative after IVF, especially if the hCG levels aren't high enough yet. Honestly, a Beta hCG blood test ordered by your fertility specialist is the only accurate way to confirm. It's best to wait for your scheduled clinic test.
I can only speak from my personal experience, but my home test was completely negative on day 9 post-transfer. I was devastated, but my clinic's scheduled blood test showed a healthy positive. So kits can definitely lie early on.
