Does bleeding occur during early pregnancy?

I just found out im pregnant, maybe 5 weeks. A friend told me she had some bleeding early on and it scared me. Is this a common thing that happens or should i be worried if it does?

My doctor told me light spotting can happen in early weeks for some women and isnt always a danger. But she was very clear that any heavy red bleeding or cramps needs to be seen right away. The colour and amount matter, so let the doc decide.

I had light spotting around week 5 and I felt so scared, I cried thinking the worst. My gynac checked and said it was implantation type and everything was fine. But I am so glad I went in instead of just googling.
