Doc asked me to do a urine culture for some infection and im just wondering. Will that same test also show if im pregnant or is it totally different? Bit confused honestly.
No, urine culture is for finding infections like uti, not pregnancy. For pregnancy you need a urine pregnancy test or a beta hcg blood test. They are totally different tests.
My doctor explained urine culture only checks for bacteria, it has nothing to do with the pregnancy hormone. The home strip or beta hcg checks hcg levels for pregnancy. So you would need the right test for that.
