First time amma here, 8 weeks pregnant. My mom explains everything in tamil and i understand better that way. Would love if someone can share the basic dos and donts in tamil pls, easier for me.
Yaar, first thing is don't stress too much about all the traditional rules people throw at you. Just drink lots of water, take your vitamins, and avoid heavy lifting or eating raw foods.
Arey look, simple rules hain na—bina wash kiye fruits mat khana, caffeine thoda kam rakhna, aur khush rehna! Baki sab normal hi hai, jyada dimaag mat lagao.
Please make sure to consult your gynac before following any traditional advice or home remedies. Some herbs or foods recommended traditionally might not suit your specific body type or pregnancy.
I totally understand how confusing it gets when elder family members give so many different rules. Just listen to your body, eat with love, and don't let the anxiety of all these rules steal your joy during this beautiful phase.
I know how scary it can be with everyone telling you different rules of what to do and what not to do. To be safe, I strictly avoided any heavy physical work, traveling in the early days, and heat-inducing foods. Please prioritize your peace and rest.
I am also trying to balance what my family says versus what my doctor says! Did your family also tell you to avoid papayas and pineapples, or are there other specific things they mentioned?
I won't give any medical rules, but personally, I just avoided papaya, pineapple, and Chinese food with MSG, and made sure I walked for 20 minutes daily. That worked well for me throughout.
Honestly, my main 'don't' right now is trying to pick up anything from the floor because I just can't bend, haha! Just eat well, stay hydrated, and don't push yourself to do heavy chores.
There are so many cultural do's and don'ts, but I highly recommend discussing them openly with your doctor at the hospital. My gynac gave me a very clear, evidence-based list of what's safe and what's not, which made things so much simpler.
Main rules are eat healthy, stay active, and stay happy! ☀️ Avoid raw foods, heavy lifting, and too much caffeine. Sleep on your side and enjoy this beautiful journey! 💖
