My husband really wants to support but he just doesnt know what to do most of the time, keeps asking me. Im in second trimester and honestly some days i just need the right kind of help. What did your husbands do that actually made a difference?
Honestly the small things meant the most to me, him helping with chores and just listening when I cried for no reason. Feeling supported emotionally was huge. Coming to the doctor visits with me made me feel like a team.
I totally understand wanting him involved, it makes such a difference. Just being present and reassuring is half the job. You're not meant to do this alone.
Practically, he can take over some household and errand load so you can rest after work. Mine handled groceries and cooking on my tired days. Sharing the planning for the baby stuff helped too, it shouldnt all fall on you.
In a joint family it really helped when my husband gently backed me up with everyone's suggestions. My MIL meant well but he balanced things kindly. Just having him on my side eased a lot of pressure.
