I just found out im pregnant and everyone keeps asking how many weeks but honestly I'm confused. Do we count from the last period or from when conceived? Pls explain in simple way.
Honestly the whole counting from last period thing confused me so much at first. Did anyone else feel like the weeks didnt add up. My gynac explained it at the first scan and then it made sense.
Count from the first day of ur last menstrual period and the scan adjusts it if needed. Forty weeks total roughly. The first ultrasound gives the most accurate due date, so dont stress over exact days.
My doctor counts from the first day of ur last period, not from conception. So u are already considered about 2 weeks pregnant at the time of ovulation, which is confusing at first. The dating scan confirms the exact weeks more accurately.
I used a pregnancy app and it did all the week counting for me from my last period date. Super handy, it showed baby size each week too. Just enter ur LMP and it tracks everything, saved me the math.
