I have heard from my mother that it can feel like a continuous leak or a sudden warm gush. If this happens, one should immediately head to the hospital.
Personally, my water didn't break on its own; my doctor had to break it during active labor at the hospital. Everyone has a totally different experience.
With my normal delivery, my water broke in the hospital itself with a small 'pop' feeling and then a warm gush. It wasn't painful at all, just a bit surprising!
For me, it felt like a sudden trickling of warm water that I couldn't stop. If you ever feel this kind of leaking, please don't wait and inform your gynac right away.
