How early can you detect pregnancy via ultrasound?
Tested positive on home kit just yesterday and im super excited. Thinking of going for a scan but not sure if it's too soon to see anything. How early can the ultrasound actually pick it up?
I felt tears in my eyes when I went for my first ultrasound at 7 weeks and heard that tiny heartbeat for the first time. It is such an emotional moment, but do wait till 7 weeks so you can hear it clearly!
I actually went in for a scan at 5 weeks because I was so excited, but we only saw a tiny gestational sac! Did your doctor ask you to come back next week to check for the heartbeat too?
If you scan too early, like around 5 weeks, you might only see a sac and no heartbeat, which can cause so much stress. Because of my past complications, my doctor advised waiting until at least 7 or 8 weeks for a clear scan.
At my hospital, the staff recommended a transvaginal ultrasound (TVS) at 6 weeks for early detection. It's much clearer than an abdominal scan at that stage, so make sure to ask your doctor about the best option.
Humare yahan toh doctor ne bola tha ki 6 ya 7 week se pehle ultrasound mat karao. Tabhi bacche ki dhadkan acche se sunayi deti hai, usse pehle kuch thik se dikhta nahi hai.
With my PCOS, my periods were always irregular, so we couldn't rely on dates. We did an ultrasound at 7 weeks to confirm the exact gestational age, and that was the safest way to know.
