Doc gave me a due date but my periods were always irregular so im confused how they even worked it out. Is it from last period or the scan? Want to understand better na. Pls explain.
Listen dear, don't worry too much about the exact date. The doctors calculate it by adding 9 months and 7 days to the first day of your last period. It's just an estimate, so keep your hospital bag ready a few weeks before.
Standard calculation is 40 weeks from your LMP, but the dating scan done in the first trimester is actually the most accurate one. If you have irregular periods, the ultrasound dating is what your gynac will go by.
The due date is usually calculated from the first day of your last period, adding 280 days. My C-section was scheduled a week before my due date, which was actually a relief because recovery took some time. Be gentle on yourself, the actual delivery date can vary.
It's calculated based on your last period date, or your doctor will tell you the exact date after your first dating ultrasound scan. Take good care of your health with home-cooked nutritious food. But if you ever feel any leaking or pain near that date, contact your doctor immediately.
My doctor calculated my due date using my last period, and my baby arrived naturally just two days before that date! It's a wonderful milestone to look forward to. Keep walking, stay positive, and prepare yourself beautifully.
My due date was October 12th, but my little one decided to show up on October 20th! Looking back, I realized the due date is just a rough guide, babies have their own timing. Just enjoy these months, they fly by so fast!
I used to calculate my due date daily on ten different websites and got so stressed when they showed different dates! It's calculated from your LMP (last menstrual period), but don't obsess over it. Only about 5% of babies actually arrive on their exact due date anyway!
