How long can we have intercourse during pregnancy?
We are in our second trimester now and enjoying our intimacy. How long into the pregnancy is it generally safe to continue having intercourse? Is there a point where it's usually advised to stop or take more precautions?
Generally, you can continue until your water breaks or you go into labor, provided your pregnancy is low-risk. However, since every body is different, your doctor's advice is the absolute best guide based on your cervix health and scans.
My pregnancy apps mentioned that intercourse is safe right up to the due date unless you have complications like a short cervix or low-lying placenta. Tracking your symptoms is key, so if the app or your body shows any warning signs, stop and call your gynac.
Well, as long as your doctor gives the green light, you can go ahead! For me, by the late third trimester, I was more interested in late-night ice cream cravings than sex anyway, haha. Just listen to what your body and appetite want!
Yaar, don't stress too much about the timeline! You can technically do it till the end if there are no complications, but honestly, listen to your body. If you feel tired or heavy, just snuggle and take it easy.
Looking back, we were active until the start of the third trimester, and then my belly got too big and it just wasn't comfortable anymore! Don't push yourself if you don't feel like it, intimacy doesn't always have to be full intercourse anyway.
Oh my God, I was so paranoid about this and kept Googling if we could do it in the third trimester. I kept thinking it would trigger early labor! If you are anxious like me, just talk to your doctor clearly so you can have peace of mind.
We were comfortable doing it until about the seventh month, but after that, I started feeling too heavy and eventually had a scheduled C-section later. After delivery, you'll need at least 6-8 weeks of healing before trying again, so take it very gently right now.
I can only share what happened with me. My doctor told us we could continue till the eighth month as long as I was comfortable and had no pain. We stopped in the ninth month just because I got too heavy and tired, but check with your own doctor on this.
