How many days after intercourse pregnancy is detected?
Im so impatient yaar, its been like a week and I keep wanting to test. Dont want to do it too early and get wrong result though. How long did u all wait before it showed properly?
I was so impatient to find out! I felt like days were dragging. For me, it was around 10 days past when I thought conception happened that I got a faint line. But everyone's different, some wait till their missed period for a clearer result.
Oh, I remember those days of peeing on sticks! It felt like forever. Usually, you can start testing about 10-14 days after conception, but honestly, waiting until your period is actually due gives a much clearer result. My baby is running around now, and those anxious days feel like a lifetime ago!
My doctor explained that after intercourse, fertilization usually happens within 12-24 hours. Then, the fertilized egg takes about 6-12 days to travel and implant in the uterus. After implantation, the body starts producing hCG, which home tests detect. So, typically, you can get a positive result around 10-14 days post-ovulation/intercourse, or closer to your missed period.
Generally, it takes about 10-14 days after conception (which happens after intercourse) for pregnancy to be detected by a home test. Some people can get a faint line a bit earlier, around 8-10 days, but it's not always reliable. For certainty, best to wait till your missed period.
From what I know, it generally takes about two weeks after conception for enough pregnancy hormone to build up for a home test. So if you had intercourse around ovulation, then about 10-14 days later you might see a positive, but waiting until your missed period is usually more accurate.
This waiting period can be so anxious, I know. Typically, after successful implantation, around 6-12 days post-conception, your body starts producing the hormone. So, usually, a home test can show positive about 10-14 days after the intercourse that led to conception, or once you've missed your period. Just be gentle with yourself during this time.
The time between intercourse and detection varies, but generally, tests work best closer to a missed period. If you're planning, it's good to track your cycles and talk to your gynac about everything, especially if you have conditions like thyroid. Early guidance is always helpful.
