First time pregnant and im a bit confused how many scans are actually needed through the whole nine months. My gynac keeps adding more and im wondering if thats normal. Can someone tell their experience?
Scans can add up to the overall delivery cost, so it's good to know! Generally, 3-4 main scans are recommended: dating, NT, anomaly, and sometimes a growth scan. My doctor also did one more close to delivery. It's important not to skip the important ones, even if they cost money, for baby's health.
When I was pregnant, I used to panic thinking 'Is this too many scans?' or 'Is it not enough?'. But actually, the number varies a lot depending on your doctor and your pregnancy. My doctor did a few extra ones because of my age. Just trust your gynac, they know exactly what's needed for you and your baby.
That's a good question! I'm also pregnant and trying to keep track. My gynac has scheduled quite a few, but I get confused sometimes. Is it usually one per trimester? Like, I've had my dating scan, and the anomaly scan is next. How many did you all have?
Scans were actually a relief for me, especially when morning sickness made me feel terrible – at least I knew the baby was okay. Typically, there's a dating scan, then the NT scan, the anomaly scan around 20 weeks, and sometimes a growth scan later. Your gynac will decide what's best based on your individual needs.
Typically, most pregnancies involve about 3-4 major ultrasound scans. This includes a first-trimester viability/dating scan, a nuchal translucency (NT) scan, a detailed anomaly scan around 18-22 weeks, and often a growth scan in the third trimester. Any additional scans are usually based on individual clinical need, as decided by your doctor.
Oh, scans! By the time my baby arrived, I swear he knew his way around the ultrasound room better than me, haha! But seriously, your doctor will tell you. It's usually like 3-4 major ones, but sometimes more if they want to check something specific. It's basically a baby photoshoot inside, so enjoy it!
Yaar, scans toh bohot hote hain, actually! Like, usually, three main ones minimum: first trimester, then anomaly scan, and one more towards the end. But agar kuch extra check karna hai, ya baby position dekhni hai, toh doc more scans bolte hain. Don't worry, it's all for baby's health only!
