How many weeks does pregnancy take?

Newly pregnant hu and everyone counts in weeks but I always thought 9 months. So total kitne weeks hota hai start to end? Thoda confuse hu yaar.

Normally it is 40 weeks, but with my twins they came out early at 36 weeks itself! Double trouble means double speed sometimes haha.
