How much weeks in pregnancy?

First time pregnant and im confused about the whole counting thing. Total kitne weeks hoti hai full pregnancy? everyone says 9 months but then doctors talk in weeks so im lost a little.

A full term pregnancy is around 40 weeks, counted from the first day of your last period. Anything from 37 weeks onward is considered full term. So roughly 9 months but in weeks it's about 40.

I was confused too because doctors count from the last period not conception. So it's 40 weeks total na? I kept doing the math wrong at first, lol.

My app showed it as 40 weeks split into three trimesters, made it easy to follow week by week. It counts from your last period date. Honestly those week by week updates were my favourite part.
