Every scan report mentions estimated weight and I never understand how they get that number. Im 34 weeks and baby weight 2.1kg likha tha. Is it accurate or just an estimate, how is it actually calculated?
You don't have to calculate it yourself! ☺️ Your doctor will tell you the estimated fetal weight (EFW) in your ultrasound report. It's so exciting to see how much they grow each month! 🌱
I just delivered, and honestly, the ultrasound estimate was off by about 300 grams! The radiologist calculates it during scans using the baby's bone measurements, but it's just an estimate, so don't stress over the exact numbers.
I am planning my pregnancy and was reading about this. Apparently, doctors use specific formulas on ultrasound machines based on the baby's head and stomach size. It's amazing how technology can estimate it!
My doctor tells me the estimated baby weight during our regular ultrasound scans. I just try to eat healthy, like nuts and paneer, so my baby gets nice and chubby!
There is no home formula to calculate this, only the doctor can tell you through an ultrasound scan. If you feel your belly is too small or have any worries, please ask your gynecologist directly.
