Test came positive yesterday and now everyone is asking my due date but i dont even know from which day to count. My last period dates are a bit blurry honestly. How do u calculate the starting day?
Medically, the first day of your pregnancy is counted as the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP). It sounds weird because you aren't actually pregnant then, but that's the standard way. You can easily use an online calculator to find out!
Because of my PCOS, my periods were always irregular, so calculating from LMP was very confusing and unreliable for me. I had to wait for the dating scan to know the exact timeline. I suggest checking with your doctor for an accurate date.
I was just reading about this! Isn't it crazy that they count the weeks from when you weren't even pregnant yet? I'm trying to track my cycles properly now so I can calculate it easily when it happens.
Haha, honestly, my brain is too tired in this 3rd trimester to do any math! But yes, they count from your last period's first day. Just let your gynac do the calculations while you enjoy some extra rest!
I can only share what my doctor did for me. They took the first day of my last period as day one of pregnancy, even though I conceived later. It's best to let your doctor calculate it during your first scan.
I know how overwhelming it is to figure out these dates when you are already feeling so anxious about everything. Don't stress too much about calculating it yourself. Your doctor will tell you the exact gestational age during your first ultrasound anyway.
