Doctors count from the first day of your last period (kadaisi maadham thethi), not from conception. So they add about 40 weeks from that date for the due date. Easiest is to tell your gynac your last period date and they'll mark the month for you.
They calculate from your last menstrual period date, count 40 weeks total which is roughly 9 months plus a week. Each 4 weeks is about a month. Just note your last period start date and the doctor will tell you exactly which month you're in.
