My back and hips are killing me at night now in 2nd trimester and normal pillows arent helping. Thinking of buying a pregnancy pillow but theres C shape, U shape so many types. How do i pick the right one?
I researched a lot for this. U shape is best if you toss and turn, C shape if you want something smaller and easier to manage. Check the filling is firm but not too hard, and removable cover for washing. Read a few reviews online before buying.
Get a C or U shaped one, the full body kind. It supports your back, belly and between the knees all at once. I bought a U shape in my second pregnancy and slept so much better. Pick one with a washable cover, trust me you'll want that.
Pick based on your sleeping side, since you'll sleep on left mostly later, get one that supports belly and back together. U shape was a lifesaver for my disturbed sleep. Get washable cover, you wont have time to handwash a huge pillow.
Honestly you dont have to spend a lot. I just used two regular pillows, one for the belly and one between knees, worked fine for me. But if you want to buy one, a simple C shape is cheaper than the big U ones and does the job.
