We did IVF and im so confused about the dates. do i count from transfer day or do they calculate it differently because of the embryo age? my doc told me a number but i couldnt match it with the apps. pls explain how it works for ivf.

My doctor explained that for IVF they count using the transfer date and whether it was a day 3 or day 5 embryo, which gives a very precise gestational age. Thats why IVF dating is often more accurate than natural. The early scan also confirms it.
With my IVF baby the clinic calculated the dates from the embryo transfer day and the embryo age, then gave me my weeks. So it is a bit different from natural counting. Your fertility doctor will give you the exact dating, just go by what they tell you.
