I tested positive last week and the clinic keeps asking about my dates but honestly i get confused with all this counting. Do they go from my last period or from when we actually tried? Pls explain simply na.
They count it from the first day of your last menstrual period, LMP. Note down that date and your doctor will calculate everything from there. The early scan will also confirm or adjust the dates.
My family kept asking the same and I learnt it goes by the last period date, not the actual conception day. So just remember when your last period started. Your doctor and the first scan will settle the exact dates.
I just entered my last period date into a pregnancy app and it calculated my weeks automatically. The standard is to count from day one of your last period. The dating scan in the first trimester then fine tunes it.
I was so confused by this also when I started. So basically the first day of your last period is week one? My doctor confirmed it that way and the scan matched. Such a strange way to count honestly.
This confused me too. My gynac said doctors usually count from the first day of your last period, not the day of conception. So your due date is calculated from that last period date. Sounds odd but thats the medical way they do it.
