Im in my second tri now and the lower back pain has become so bad, by evening I can barely sit comfortably. Sleeping is also getting tough. what helped you ladies? any small things that gave relief?
My mother in law suggested sleeping on the left side with support and it really eased mine. Warm bath also felt nice. But i always ran any remedy past my doctor first, especially since back pain can sometimes mean other things.
My doctor cleared me for some gentle prenatal stretches and short walks and honestly it helped my back a lot. Dont do anything intense though, only what your gynac okays. Posture matters too, i stopped slouching.
Sitting at a desk all day made mine worse. I started using a small cushion for lower back support and took short breaks to stretch. Comfortable footwear also helped, ditch the heels. Small changes but they add up.
Beta a warm cloth or mild warm oil massage on the back from someone gentle can give relief, my mother used to do it for us. But for the oil/massage keep it light and lower back only, and if pain is strong then doctor first.
A pregnancy pillow between the legs while sleeping was a game changer for me, plus warm compress on the lower back. Avoid standing too long. If the pain is sharp or constant though, get it checked, dont just bear it.
Mild back pain is normal but please be careful, mine turned out to be something my doctor wanted to monitor. If it comes with cramps, bleeding or feels like it radiates, dont try home stuff, just call your gynac to be safe.
