My gynac mentioned baby weight at last scan but i didnt fully understand how they get it. Im 28 weeks now. Is it only from ultrasound or any other way they calculate it?
The only way to find out is through the ultrasound scans! I'm in my 3rd trimester now, and looking at my huge belly, I feel like the baby weighs 10 kg already, but the scan reports say a normal 2.5 kg!
At my parents' place, my mother would try to guess the baby's size by looking at my bump, but the actual weight is only calculated during the scan. Your gynac will measure the baby's head, tummy, and bone length during the ultrasound to give an estimate.
Arre, don't worry about this at all! I used to panic so much thinking my baby's weight was too low, but my doctor told me those scan weights are just rough estimates. As long as your doctor says the baby is healthy, just relax.
I felt so emotional during every ultrasound because that's the only way the doctor can estimate the baby's weight. Seeing those numbers grow on the screen made me cry happy tears every single time.
