How to get relief from sciatic nerve pain during pregnancy?
im in my 7th month and this shooting pain from my lower back down the leg is killing me, some days i cant even sit properly. will mention to my doc next visit but till then is there anything that gives a little relief? anyone went through this?
Pillow between the knees while sleeping, warm bag on the lower back, and avoid standing in one place too long. Worked for me both times. Dont take any painkiller on your own though, ask your gynac if pain is bad.
I totally understand, that nerve pain can make you cry honestly. Side sleeping with a body pillow and gentle warmth helped me most. Be gentle with yourself, it usually eases after delivery. Hang in there.
I had bad back issues so I was careful. Mild stretches and rest helped, but when the pain went into numbness or tingling I went to my doctor and she checked it properly. If you feel weakness or numbness, dont ignore, get it checked.
My MIL told me to do warm sek on the back and rest more, and it actually helped a bit. Also dont lift heavy stuff yaar, that made mine worse. For severe pain better consult the doctor.
My physio gave me some gentle pregnancy safe stretches and pelvic tilts that really eased my sciatica. Cat cow stretch was a lifesaver. But please do these only after your doctor or a prenatal physio okays it for you.
Oh that shooting pain down the leg was the worst for me in third trimester. What helped was sleeping on my side with a pillow between knees and a warm compress. Dont sit too long at once. If it gets very sharp or with numbness, do tell your doctor.
