The marks on my belly and thighs are getting more visible as the bump grows. I know its normal but still want to reduce them if possible. What oils or creams actually worked for you?
Please focus on your and baby's health first, marks are very secondary. Just use a very gentle, safe baby oil or coconut oil to keep your skin hydrated.
I freaked out when I saw the first purple line on my stomach! But later I found out it's completely normal and they fade away on their own post-delivery.
Don't waste thousands on fancy anti-stretch mark creams, they are mostly marketing. Normal coconut oil costs 100 Rs and does the exact same job of keeping skin moist.
If you have any severe itching along with marks, please mention it to your gynac. Sometimes severe itching can be related to liver issues (cholestasis), so don't ignore it.
My pregnancy tracker app recommended starting moisturizing from the first trimester itself. Keep the skin hydrated with shea butter or coconut oil to maintain elasticity.
My baby is 2 now and those dark lines have faded into silver threads. Trust me, you won't even notice or care about them once your baby is in your arms.
I felt so conscious about my stretch marks initially, but then I realized they are my tiger stripes of motherhood. Bio-Oil helped lighten them over time.
With hormonal issues, skin takes longer to heal. I used a simple fragrance-free moisturizer to avoid skin sensitivity, but consult your doctor if you get rashes.
