My hb came on the lower side at my last checkup and doc mentioned blood volume increases in pregnancy. I feel tired all the time honestly. What foods or things helped you keep it up?
Drink plenty of water, eat green leafy veg, dates, beetroot, jaggery type iron foods. And take whatever iron supplement your gynac prescribed regularly. Diet plus the tablet together did the trick for me.
My doctor said staying well hydrated and eating iron and protein rich food supports good blood levels. She put me on the prescribed iron tablets too. The exact dose she decided after seeing my hemoglobin report, so pls follow your own.
You dont need fancy stuff honestly, simple things like palak, beetroot, dates and jaggery are cheap and iron rich. Just drink enough water and take the iron tablet from your gynac. Regular hb test tells you if its working.
I focused on iron rich foods but had to watch sugary stuff because of my sugar levels, so I went easy on too much jaggery. Greens, water and the prescribed iron helped. If you have any condition, run the diet by your doc.
I had spinach, dates and a little jaggery daily as my mom suggested, with my regular check ups. Drinking enough water matters too. But the iron medicine part, let your doctor decide based on your tests.
