How to increase breast milk naturally during pregnancy?
I'm pregnant with my first baby and I want to make sure I'm prepared for breastfeeding. I was wondering if there are any natural ways to help increase breast milk supply even before the baby arrives, or what can I do during pregnancy to help with future milk production?
After my C-section, my milk didn't come in immediately, and that's completely normal because the real milk supply is triggered only after birth. Please don't try to express milk while you're still pregnant as it can trigger labor contractions; just focus on resting your body.
Please be very gentle with yourself. Breast milk only comes in after delivery because of the hormone changes when the placenta is removed. Trying to increase supply during pregnancy can stimulate the uterus, which can be risky, so it's best to wait until your sweet baby is in your arms.
I stayed active with doctor-approved walks and light yoga, but when it came to breast milk, my doctor strictly told me to do nothing during pregnancy. Your milk only comes in after delivery, and stimulating the breasts now can trigger labor, so please stay safe and wait.
I totally understand how anxious you are to prepare everything for your little darling, but please don't worry. Your body will naturally start producing milk only after birth, so trying to increase it now isn't needed and can even cause early labor pains.
This is actually a very important topic to discuss with your lactation consultant or hospital staff before delivery. During pregnancy, your body doesn't need to produce mature milk yet, and trying to force it can cause early contractions, so please ask your gynac clearly about this.
I can only share what happened with me, but I didn't have any milk during pregnancy and my gynac told me that's exactly how it is supposed to be. She advised me never to squeeze or pump before the baby is born because of the risk of early contractions.
I was extremely cautious during my pregnancy and learned that nipple stimulation can actually cause uterine contractions, which can be very dangerous. Please do not try to increase breast milk now; wait until after delivery when it happens naturally and safely.
Oh sweetie, don't stress too much about breast milk right now! Your body is only supposed to make milk after the baby is born. Trying to stimulate your breasts now can actually cause contractions, so just relax and let nature do its thing when the time comes.
