At my last scan the doctor said the femur length is on the lower side and asked me to come back for another check. Im 28 weeks and now im constantly worried about it. Is there something in diet or anything that helps with this?
I panicked when my scan FL was slightly lower than dates, did anyone else feel this? My gynac said its often just baby's build and tracking growth matters more than one reading. She told me to focus on protein. The next scan was fine, so try not to over worry.
Honestly nutrition helps overall growth but i wouldnt chase one measurement. I focused on protein, dairy, eggs and dal as my doctor allowed. Whatever you eat, balance it and let the doctor track the trend across scans rather than reacting to one FL value.
FL is the femur length, basically the baby's thigh bone measured in scans, and its mostly genetic plus growth. My doctor said you cant really force it to increase, but good protein, calcium and overall nutrition support the baby's growth. If your doctor flagged a low FL, follow their plan specifically.
FL is the femur length they note in scans. Theres no magic food to increase it, it depends a lot on genetics and growth pace. Just eat a balanced diet with enough protein and calcium and take your supplements. If the doctor is worried about it they will guide you, otherwise dont stress over the number.
